Darla Anderson is the program director for Growing Enlightened Minds child care. She has dedicated her time and knowledge to providing exceptional early childhood education and care services to children from infants to 12 years old. She is dedicated to providing a variety of learning opportunities designed to stimulate the mind and foster a lifelong love of learning. Her philosophy concentrates in the belief that children are naturally curious and motivated to learn and her role is to equip them with the tools and resources they need to explore their interests and passions.
Why did you choose a profession in child care?
I am a passionate dedicated preschool teacher & mother who has been teaching young children for over 15 years. I always had a love for children and teaching. I volunteered in a Child Development Center during my high school years which further sparked my interest in child care. Even as a salaried teacher it was difficult for me to find affordable child care when I had my daughter. I remember sitting in a parking lot crying after returning to work & getting my first check because I had very little money left. When I started my business that moment was in my mind. I want to prevent another mother from feeling that way.
What is one thing that makes your program unique?
What makes my program unique is the 15 plus years of dedicated Early Childhood Education experience. Our program is built on a foundation of proven strategies and a deep understanding of young learners' needs. I believe in nurturing the whole child, adapting teaching methods to support each child's unique developmental journey and fostering a love of learning from an early age.
What is your favorite feature on the Wonderschool platform and how does it help you manage your business?
My favorite feature on the Wonderschool platform is the Finances & Payment feature, it allows me to track my finances, expenses, revenue & invoices. I am able to manually input payments as well as have invoices automatically logged. This will be a tremendous help at the end of the year for tax purposes. The invoice feature automates payments allowing parents to pay upon receipt or set up autopay. This helps ensure consistency & timely payments, allowing me to focus on the service I am providing to the children.

Having coaches & mentors guiding me along the way felt like a heavy burden was lifted. The resources that were shared in the form of templates, websites, articles etc speed up the time in me completing necessary items.
