Our Teachers

Ms. Omowale the director is a certified education specialist with endorsements in special education, elementary, dance, ESL, trainer consultant, that has experience with children for over 20 years as a teacher and director in a safe friendly environment. All staff are required to have a comprehensive fingerprinting background check before working with children and being on the premises. This is also a state and federal requirement that includes volunteer, teacher, guest, parents, or anyone that will be working with children onsite at any of my facilities in Saint Clair Shores, Detroit, and Grosse Pointe.

Building Better Learners Center has two locations that specializes in child care and enrichment classes for all learners up to the age of 17 with certified staff in academics, enrichment courses, afterschool with a nontraditional way of learning through play based, Montessori, and natured based learning whose childcare standards and curriculum have aligned with State of Michigan programs in language, performing arts, career/technical education. We work with other non profit agencies at our Detroit location such as MiLeap and The Department of Education to help aid in easing tuition cost such as afterschool and child care services. We are a proud 5 star demonstrating center along with winning awards that have been featured in Grosse Pointe Newspaper and more!

Philosophy

BBL preschool/Headstart mircoschool is a service-oriented educational hub for preschool and KIndergartens at the Detroit location and consulting services ( Macomb)that engages the student through family and community partnership with stakeholders in a positive way, while networking to sustain ability and create profit through education and learning. Our facility mission is to promote school readiness for all children using comprehensive early childhood strategies, health/wellness, and cultural curriculum and wellness as an holistic approach. This program are free, but only with qualified requirements that will help us to be one of the top ten centers in Michigan as part of the goal that aligns with Michigan strategic plan to be the top 10 in 10 years.

About our program

Building Better Learners Center Academy in Detroit, we foster a welcoming environment where children thrive. Our program emphasizes school readiness, social skills, personal growth, foreign language, afterschool, and Honors Exceptional Kindergarten Program. With an innovative approach including play, nature exploration, foreign language exposure, and STEM activities, we cater to all learners, including those with unique educational needs. We also specialized in latchkey, afterschool programming, and entrepreneur programs for school age and pre-teens in our onsite and offsite facility.

Admissions

Our admission process is simple. First, contact us through email at eastbblc@gmail. com to have inquiry. Next, in the email, please put student admission in the subject line. Then proceed to the the next box under the subject line put all children names, ages, and other pertinent information for us to contact you , so we can promptly get back to you about complete admissions information for your child’s particularly age group and class. All parents must go to Brightwheel. com and put in all information as requested in the parent portal for informational classroom purposes, even if you get assistance from DHS. You can also go through wonderschool.com for payment and informational input! These sites must be completely filled out in order for admission or register fee to be discounted! Confidential information will not be given to any other third party besides director discretion (Brightwheel & Wonderschool) without parental or written consent.
